The OS is retained in flashram so it should not, but may be needed to change lang sets. The only option in bios is if international is enabled or not.
If you contact Adaptec and ask nicely through an email support request, they have been providing v3.4.807, last free version. You must pay $$$ for v4.
To reload OS you will need assist, since you can not read the screens.
