This is some realy old pics from rad/rez project I tryed back in 2001, it didn't work too great and I've switch to a external evap system that beats anything I've seen, The rad/rez might have worked better if it had been copper.

Just drilled it with a 12mm drill and they screwed in fine. although the bottom barb is being a complete bitch, can't get a good seal, mainly because i slipped when drilling it, whoops.

lol. does that actually cool the water (bong-cooler style) or is it simply to look pretty / make noise? if it does cool the water, how well does it cool? enough to not need a rad?

alexwai, that res looks really good, and well made
![]() I'm after trying something similar myself. What sealant/adhesive did you use? I've been looking at aquarium sealant, or simple clear silicone sealant? |

nice res. guys, i really like Corso's b/c of the tube-like design and i like alexwai's b/c of the craftsmanship, it looks so professional. all of these custom res's are really nice. shows a lot of creativity and how people love DIY projects.

I havent got any accrylic sheet but would it be ok to use the cases from cd's. It looks like accrylic. I would need to cut the edges off and the side peices may need to be made from two peices glued together for strength, any one think this will work? I have a few hundred spare cd cases I could use for this....
or anyone know a shop in uk that sells it? Last edited by |kbn|; 03-30-2004 at 09:02 AM. |

I'd think CD cases might be a bit thin and fragile. You can get acrylic and polycarbonate sheet from http://www.rswww.com in the UK (note they only sell in fairly large pieces).

I had the idea and posted before I had a look at the cases. I agree they are far too thin (~1mm?) and crack easlly, they are too brittle..
This could work if 5 or 6 cases were glued together for strength but I dont think I could be arsed. Ive looked at rs and they didnt have it in any small enough quantity ![]() |
