Default A Pair of WACC 1000s ... enough *passive* cooling power for *serious* OCing?

A current WC concept of mine sports a pair of fedco 2-752 (11.813"x 6.188"x 1.625") heatercores or a similarly large but thin heatercore with a pair of 120x38mm Sunon ACs on each all in a nice external rad box. Bascially looking for SPCR-quiet active cooling while still maintaining the ability to OC like mad and perhaps ramp up the fans somewhat if necessity during such OC timeperiods like encoding, gaming, and the like.

Or at least, that was my thought until I saw the WACC 1000.

WACC Homepage: www.wetandchillychips.co.uk

How much "cooling power" would a pair of WACC 1000s have in series? Any idea? The pump: Iwaki MD20Z, CPU Block: Storm G4 or G5. And I'm talking about serious OCing i.e. A64 4800 dually-core at ~3.0+GHz (if attainable on water).

Here’s a shot of one in use. Saw it at this SPCR thread pointing to a review at Overclex.com. Link to bablefish translation <here>.

So what do you think? Just looking for performance ideas. I already know the issues of Al, though anodized.

Thanks,
DrCR

that is a lot of money for what you get

£112.00 could get you 2 PA160s
giving you guarenteed performance and no AL in your system

A while back I was looking for a large direct waterheater in an attempt for passive performance, but I gave up on it. Basically all the waterheaters are insulated now. The thought of a pair of WACC 1000s renewed my interest in a purely passive setup. (The Reserator is too much of a pansy for me lol, as is the case for most here I'm sure.)

Something like this:

results of cathar's testing of a single PA160 can be seen here
http://www.thermochill.com/pa160.php

- the link to the source discussion at OCAU requires membership there to view: recommended (if you are not already a member....)

presumably there is a way to derive an estimated C/W for a pair from the figures for a single rad?

WC-1000 is Aluminum?

Which means INCOMPATIBLE W/ G5 SILVER
Sorta kills that Idea

OTOH, my PA160 so far w/ a Panaflo M and SD3700 @ 1.47Vcore/9x300 (higher later) _ x800xl in loop - Everything I throw at it make the temp go to a blistering 30-31c (including full run of SNM) with 3 second blips to 32 rarely. And the AS5 is 2 days old

Fan is set to kick in to full @ 31, so is almost never really noticable. So now I notice the fan on my OCZ 600....

Oh yeah this is on a copper cascade, the silver G5 comes NEXT week. And I can put a PAPST 150mm @ 5V and get 100CFM w/ only airflow noise if I really decide to do that (Prolly next month as I'm feeling sorta lazy re: laying out and making shroud.)

Mikee, can you measure your ambient and water temps? Those would give a much better idea of your rad's performance.
