Default Why I use a filter.

Here are a couple shots of the filter from my test bench. One would think after plumbing the bench with new tube and pipe and new parts and then using fresh distilled water right out of the bottle things wouldn't get this messy. However they do... I use a SwissFlow 800 flow meter in my test bench now and they suggest a 20 micron filter as the blades on the meter are pretty fragile. Also with blocks like the Storm, MP-05 and Nexxos blocks they can get clogged up pretty easy. Any little bits of sealant or crap left in the rad or other parts after manufacturing can cause issues.

Anyway this isn't a post to scare people in to using filters. Just something to think about when using parts mentioned above, especially that flow meter (as it can't be cleaned it just breaks!).

Edit: 1st two dirty 2nd two after cleaned.

Nice catch!

Remind us where you got it, and the specs?

This is just a filter for sprinkler systems. Won't fit in a PC as it is a monster. I got it at Home Depot for $10.00. It has a 150 mesh screen.

Example (3/4" version): http://www.dripirrigation.com/drip_i...roducts_id=123

I use a shurflo 1/2 strainer. You can find them in a boat surplus shop, they are even cheap to. It will restrain your flow a bit depending on how powerfull pump you have. Im running a D5 and no temp drops here after installation.
