Heh. Checked one of my comps and the pump was not turning. MBM said 127C?!?!?!?!?!?!? The block was near the point of melting the plastic top (couldn't touch it HOT!), and yet it was still happily crunching D.F. and not locked up!?!?!?!? I find it distressing the C.O.P. did nothing on th ASUS A7V8X-X. I find it amazing the XP1700 not only didn't fry but was still 100%functionable and crunching D.F. at a 100% load.... I wish I could say I was making this up and/or am drunk but I cannot. Crazy stuff.... Anyway one comp offline for now....

Welll...
If it wasn't for the hourly M$ Win2K crashes, courtesy of DirectX 9.0b on a GF4Ti4200, I'd have some nice little stats off the dual 2.8, but as anything kills it right now, until I can get DX9 out of the system, I cannot help fold. Probably two days until I get it all stable and happy again.(Reinstall if neccesary...) |

I have made very litle points now, the P4 has shutted down. for a while.
That made me reallise, when it is a fast protein, AMD are as fast a a Pentium. But on a slower protein, P4 seems to be much faster. I would like to see others thoughts anyway. |

I think this is because on a slower protein there are longer float numbers involved and such where it is better to have a large cache (don't P4 have a large cache?).
So maybe we should all switch to the Barton core to get the best of both worlds - I hear the 2500+ chip is a good overclocker. ~ Boli

One of the cgi servers that does the stats at DF central is dying. This is the third time in four days that it has gone down. It doesn't help that they're also in the process of re-doing the entire website...
You are still getting credit for your folding - it is only the team stats/third-party stats that are affected. Individual stats are still available at http://www.distributedfolding.org/login.html. |

The Distributed Folding site has a barebones news section, and more importantly, a link to the Official Support Forum.

Stats are starting to populate also on Arachnid
26 million points in one update, not to bad hehehe 10 million more than the nearest other person in folding for the weekend it looks like. and pushes us deep into the 700 million range

Remeber guys, there is a new CLIENT and protein coming out tomorrow morning. Try and check up on your comps to make sure the new client updated itself correctly.

Not goign to be folding for a bit this week, going to test the new client, and see if others have issues before rolling it out to my folding army.

WOW, we are officially in 5th place.
Guess this puts us in a state of equilibrium for the time being, unless some "darkhorse" comes up with a ton of DF crunching machines

We are not that much slower than the ones directly above us, but we are not gaining much ground on them when we are faster.
