New 4100...help?
Alright so I have been setting up the Snap 4100 server in my house and I reset it following the instructions, but now its not connecting.
I know the situation is very vague, but is it possible that someone could help? |

Re: New 4100...help?
If you did a reset to factory settings (4 blinks) you will need to use assist to locate and do the initial setup. A factory resets the nic port to 0.0.0.0 Snap wrote the assist to use a special protocol to locate the units and do the initial setup. No other utility will work unless it's the newer version (Snap server Manager) that is now being shipped with the new units.

Re: New 4100...help?
Use the quick link in my signature to the FAQ's. It will answer a lot of your questions. There is a hot link to reseting procedure used on the SnapOS models. So look to see if this reset matches what you did. There have been reports around years back of a procedure that was not corret so verify against the one on this site.
Here is the link to the wiki section of snap info. http://wiki.procooling.com/index.php/Snap_Server Once you have figured out what you have done and need more help let us know. Adaptec/Overland use to give out assist on email request. Since Overland purchased Snap Appliance from Adaptec I do not know if they changed there policy.
