Snap Server 2200 Resurrection
Hi
I have bought a dead Snap Server 2200 and found an image for it. The 2200 was bare and HDD'less. After replacement with a 320 gb Seagate HDD (loaded with image) i was able to boot it. Here are some infos about my Snap Server : Software version : 4.0.860 Hardware version : 2.0.3 Bios stamp : 3.3.705 But there is a error in my disk log : W File System : Set-up of logical disk failed. Device ID: 40000 (hex) Disk 40000 4/4/2007 7:23:57 PM W File System : 1 member(s) missing in logical device (original ID: 40000) Disk 40000 4/4/2007 7:23:57 PM E File System : Logical set member 0 not found. Original device ID: 40000 Disk 40000 4/4/2007 7:23:57 PM My device status is : Stripe - Large disk Error. Invalid device/drive number. 151,673 Unknown Unknown My devices are : Logical Device: 10006 Position: 0 JBOD Size (KB): 32296 Free (KB): 31760 Private Mounted Label:Private Contains system files only Unique Id: 0x24E5C3E671CE0123 Mount: /priv Index: 12 Order: 0 Partition: 10006 Physical: 10007 FS Size (KB): 32768 Starting Blk: 515 Private Physical: 10007 Drive Slot: 0 IDE Size (KB): 78150656 Fixed Logical Device: 40000 Position: 1 SPAN_BROKEN Size (KB): 155313936 Free (KB): 0 Public Unmounted Label:Stripe Large disk Unique Id: 0x5C02BE872F07F91B Partition: 10000 Physical: 10007 S 40000 Size (KB): 77656968 Starting Blk: 61583 Public Physical: 10007 Drive Slot: 0 IDE Size (KB): 78150656 Fixed It seems 2200 stalled in an old RAID 0 configuration and i must somehow reconfigure my HDD as a individual HDD. I have also bought another 320 gb HDD and installed it as a second HDD. But there is no difference. How should i reconfigure my server in debug section with which commands ? Is there a unique jumper configuration needed for the second hdd ? ( The primary IDE installed HDD's jumper selection is MASTER ) Thank you for your help |

Re: Snap Server 2200 Resurrection
Yeah, just reconfigure the drives using the debug section
I presume the image was taken from a drive that was spanned - You could get it to rebuild, but breaking it properly would be better You need to force a reformat Try config devices unmount 10006 config devices format dev 10006 /reinit config devices mount 10006 Or something to that effect i believe

Re: Snap Server 2200 Resurrection
Your errors indicate it was in raid0.
If you can not configure through the gui. Go to debug. issue the cmd "co de predict individual 10000" reboot This should clear up the problem so you can use the www interface. If that does not work use "co de config individual 10000"

Re: Snap Server 2200 Resurrection
Thank you for all of your replies.
re3dyb0y just solved the problem. After the commands 10006 device formatted then i have used the same method for second HDD and now all my 2x320 gb Seagates works like a charm on Snap Server 2200. Note : Snap Server 2200 users your both HDD jumpers should set to MASTER ! Cheers |

Re: Snap Server 2200 Resurrection
Yep, good info to be had here. Especially if you have a REAL problem and it's NOT on a 4100.
I just recieved my second 2200 today. I bought it non-working on ebay and had it running in 10 minutes without even opening it up. Gotta love knowledge. Cheers Shane

I asked you because I was already talking to you and you were faster than the PDF file . Besides, all I needed to know was the exact reset sequence off the top of your head. Knew how to fix it. Was just impatient enough to ask you. Shane
