4100 RAM upgrade

Does anyone here have a 4100 that they have upgraded to 256 MB RAM. I have 128 MB in mine, running 4 disk RAID5. My question is whether or not there is a measureable performance increase by doing so. If the unit is only 1% faster with the upgrade, then in my mind it isn't worth it. Just curious. Thanks!

If you are not running JVM it should be good with 128.

Just an update. I upgraded my snap to 256 MB recently (found a stick of low profile for my favorite price: free). When I was running with 128 MB, I would get transfer rates of about 8 MB/sec. Now that I am at 256 MB my snap saturates its 100Mb (10.5 MB/sec, give or take) connection. It also seems more responsive when I am surfing through folders, no lag anymore. Just an FYI for any of your performance freaks.

Forgive me if this seems like a silly question...but is there a command to find out the size of the RAM currently in your snap? Mine does not have any lables on it... and config devices info doesn't seem to list it.

Not a silly question at all. Use "debug mem" (no quotes) to display your current memory configuration.

256 over 64 was an improvement in my case. also I replaced the drives with 72000 and that helped as well.

I'm assuming that you are running RAID 5. That would make a huge difference! The biggest thing I notice is that it doesn't seem to lag when I access folders now.
