2200 Transfer Errors
Hi,
I'm running into a problem with transferring large amounts of data over the network from my Snap 2200. I can't really tell what's triggering the error but I get an error that says the network resource is missing and the system light on the server is flashing rapidly. I cannot access the administration pages and end up having to turn the server off and on. The server then does a disc check. The error log shows : W File System Check : Clean flag not set in superblock (Fixed) W File System Check : Modified flag set in superblock (Fixed) W File System Check : partition is NOT clean. Any help would be appreciated. |

Re: 2200 Transfer Errors
Rapid Blinking is Panic Mode, which can be caused by many things. It sound like you are having a drive issue.
Make sure you have a current backup. What Raid configuration are you in? 0, 1 Post the log in HTML code, or send it to me via email and I will take a closer look.

Re: 2200 Transfer Errors
Was that the complete log? It was real short.
What size HD's and MFG? The SnapOS is not compatiable with VISTA. If your using it STOP. Vista dowes some screwey network and file things. Never have liked Raid0, always trouble. Your required to have a good backup system. I would confirm that the cooling fan is staying on, and the unit is clean (free of dust). A dirty unit makes them run hot. I have seen several work on startup, but once they got hot would shutdown. Then they would restart once they cool off, intermitten cooling. The logs reports superblock problems. This is the critical part of the HD's file system. I would run Spinrite on the HD's and confirm that the HD's are healthy. Make sure you mark drive position so they go back the same way. Another test would be to let the unit cool down over night and try again. If it works then it's more than likely a cooling issue.

Re: 2200 Transfer Errors
The unit is clean and the fan is working properly however...I took the cover off and put an external fan on it and I had no problem with a large transfer. My house isn't all that cool to begin with so I'm not surprised that heat might be the problem. Thanks for the help.

Re: 2200 Transfer Errors
You can replace the fan with a higher output. That's what I did when I upgraded the drives.
