I have a Maxi-Jet 1200 in a TechCool 2200 box that's used for LANing. It is ok, it works but nothing special. I get 1.2 gpm with a Cascade, Z-Chip & older DD Radeon block.
BTW, this is a part time setup only... |

I have an Iwaki MD-6 (Yes a 6)
It has head specs close to the SwiftTech MCP600 but half the flow.. about the same size.. 110VAC Recommend the Iwaki's... the absolutely rock.... As the MCP600 uses what looks to be an Iwaki closed impeller design or something very close... (I'm sure Bill A could answer that) I would go with that.. its half the cost of the Iwaki's and deals better with pressure than any of the aquarium pumps out there... and its 12VDC |

Best bang for the buck in a pretty high performing pump MCP600.
Iwaki MD-15 is what I have and it's more powerfull than the 600, but also far more expensive. Iwaki's hold up really well and are about the strongest of performers, if you are willing to spend the money for them. I really like the Swifty 600 it's a strong performer and it's even 12v so it's surper easy to have it come on with the system. If I buy a second pump it'll be the 600. |

That chiller would work, but the large size is an issue. The few folks I know that use a chiller place it in a different room like I do due to the noise generated by them. Nice & cheap tho. |

I would suggest the Johnson CM10P7-1 or CM30P7-1 pump, which are magnetic drive (no leakage) and permanent magnet motor (no brushes to wear out, extremely long lasting).
The confusion is that Johnson and Jabsco both also do cheaper, lower spec pumps, which look, at first glance, like the better more expensive ones. Always read the label... ![]()
