What do u guys think of this?
ok, next month or hopefully even this month i'll be ordering:
OCWC Copper polyblock Big Mama radiator the total including shipping and handling to hong kong is about $107 i'll be getting a 700 liter/hour pump from a local pet store, so i think that should provide enough waterflow, and i'll make my own reservoir. so what do u guys think of my waterblock and radiator choice? i would get the dangerden maze 2 and the copper cooling cube, but then its more expensive including shipping and handling. thanks. |
my choice is as follows....
Senfu Radiator BeCool waterblock 2 metres tubing water wetter acrylic clamp misc. odds and ends total cost shipped $110 I will be using my Eheim 1250 pump that can be had for around $70 shipped. A little excessive, but... i just couldn't help it. Your cooler system will probably be close to mine in performance. I went all out for that extra peace of mind. Quote:

hehehe
but then i'm trying to get all my parts from one store, cos i don't wanna order from a couple stores cos shipping will kill me cos it cost so much to ship stuff to hong kong. u got any good links to online stores that sell water cooling stuff? i got these www.caseetc.com www.dangerden.com www.overclock-watercool.com www.cool-computers.com www.cpufx.com www.overclockershideout.com www.aquastealth.com any others? thanks |
Yep, http://www.liquidcool.org/main.php
The Senfu is OK as long as you mod it: - enlarge hose connectors (dremel) - use 90mm fans instead of provided 80mm ones |
yes, definitely gonna dremel the in/out....
Actually changed to the following now. DangerDen Maze 2 waterblock 3/8" in/out DangerDen CoolCube Radiator (i like the smaller footprint) Big Momma in good, but UGLY!!! ;) 1.6 - 2.0 metres tubing w/ odds and ends Still looking for a cheap and QUIET pump. Any suggestions? Need a flow rate of 1000liters/h at 1.5 metre head |
I got a 1200l/h Seltz pump thats pretty quiet indeed (as long as bubbles are out). Here is the exact reference:
Hydor Seltz L30 II HMax 1.95m QMax 1200 l/h 27W price tag around €55 or $60 It's a mag drive, and can work immersed or inline as well. I found mine at a local aquarium shop. |
Thanks for the recommendation, Surefoot!
Can anyone offer info on the following pumps Eheim 1250 Eugene Danner model 7 Dolphin DP560 Rio 3100 Basically which one is the quietest one, and will deliver a good flow at a 2metre head. Is the Seltz comparable in performance? update on the radiator.... going to go and make a copper cooling tower and use that instead of the radiator. this sounds like a better idea.... |
Why do you need such a powerful pump? I have a Eheim 1048 (600l/h) and it's plenty powerful enough... Don't forget bigger pumps put out more noise and heat not to mention they're just bigger so need a bigger space for mounting.
|
The Seltz and the Eiheim 1250 are rather similar in performance. The Eheim is more expensive though, because it's a well know trade mark amongst aquarium fans.

well the quoted is with maybe 6" of tubing if that and no head of water. There's actually a graph on my Eheim box that shows how the flowrate drops off as you put more head on the system.generally it's not too bad till you get over about 2 feet then things start to drop off badly. Anyway the original point is, don;t you find that a larger pump doesn't actually make much difference due to diminishing returns?

Personally, I have found that the pumps rated to 1000L/H yield the best results. After that, it really doesn't matter. I will be using peltiers in my system, and probably an OC 1.5Ghz Tbird, so the flow will have to be very good in my system. |
