Aluminum Compression Hose Clamps

Has anyone seen these before or used them? Aluminum Compression Hose Clamps: http://www.pi-thon.com/Spanner.htm

Yup, and they aren't cheap.

Yeah. I saw.

How well do they work? I've always been a bit wary of compression fittings. Would be bad to screw it down and break the hose.

Using those would strictly be for the looks, nothing else, so it's really up to you. The pressures involved in a water cooling loop are pretty low, to where you just barely need hose clamps, just for safety (accidental tugging).

It's a nice looking touch though. I considered them myself, but the price is putting me off.

You don't have to worry about the hoses being damaged: these fittings are extremely popular all over Europe, and work extremely well.

Mabye the biggest advantage of these is that they are a neat way to cover the ragged ends of braided hose. I have used and seen a lot of them (or similar ones) on race cars where flexible hoses have to be the braided type. The ones I used were Aeroquip brand, but same principle.

They are reusable and probably don't even need the spanner wrenches for the pressures of a W/C system (finger tight should do).
