IMHO Single flow cores are better than dual pass cores (less restriction) if you can get one that fits. The FedCo # 2-342 is one of the most popular big cores (9.5" X 6.125 grid area, plus tanks) with others in the same general range.
I paid about $40 for mine, brand new from NAPA / Belkamp. It has real funky longneck fittings on it, so you will definitely need to mod those to fit your app.
