You should have downloaded a ISO image file, for KnoppixCD. Use Toast to burn the image. I believe toast gives you option to select an image file. HD are cheap, but you want reliability in a server. I recommend purchasing Seagates or Hitachi drives. Most all ATA100 drives will work. DO NOT BUY any drive that has EIDE interface. This interface is found on some models of Maxtors and WD. Maxtors are the low end drives, use a lot of plastic for internal parts where everybody else uses metal. The only drive that WD makes thats any good, is the Raptor's. Most v2 1000 supports Large disk >137gig. I see alot of 250gig for around $90.00. The last drive I bought was a Hitachi 250 gig for $69 after rebates.
