Some drives have a jumper for delay startup. Some have it where you set via software. Seagates have a lot of options via software.

How much more amps do the 500 pull over the 30 that were in it?
Were the 30s 5400 rpm or 7200rpm?

On my 2000, I found that the connectors were loose, started to discolor. Had to use a pick to tighten the connectors up. But it only had a 50w power supply.

Some users have had problems with a 4 disk array. If you find that it takes forever, > 3 days to build the array you will need to drop back to a 3 disk array / spare.
