Magnets, you seam to be over working the problem. Slow down and read some of these posts. With the 2000, NO EXTERNAL PROGRAM IS NEEDED. Everything needed is stored in flashram. You may want to consider moving up to v3 os.

As for the other (3rd) 2000, if no lights come on check the fuse (2A) on the power supply. If blown, look very closely at the shielding where the connection to the drives are made. It is thin and sharp enough to cut through the insulation and short it out.
