Well maybe not.

I know a 2200 can be converted into a 4000. Uses the same MB if I recall. May require a BIOS flag change, though. The 2200 has 2 ide controllers. I have not seen the cabling of a v2 2000, I know a v1 has 1 ide controllers.

I recall a while back that a user had a 4000 that thought it was 2 drive unit. Got hung and couldn't reset.
