There is a work around be requires the use of a linux box, that you don't have. Did you get all of the manuals and Assist with the 4100. I hope you know that the 4100 does not support LBA48bit, if you were plannng on upgrading the drives too.

If you purchased it new, complain to Adaptec that it was shipping with out of date OS.
