IT will be Sloooooooooow compared to your 4000. But highly portable.

There are 2 different version of the 1000 to complicate things. Version 1 has the OS stored in flashram like your 4000. So all you have to do is replace the drive. Yours is a v3, so you will need to copy the boot tracks over to the new drive. If you don't have a image file, I would advise doing so, before it craps out. Then burn to a cd for safe keeping.

As to size????? There doesn't seam to be any restrictions, that has poped up. So you can drop a 500gig drive in, which I think has already been done. Or you can be the first with a 750gig upgrade. That way it will match your 4000 in capacity.
