It's proably v1 2000 which uses the SIMM's Memory. The OS is stored in flash ram. Depending which version on OS currrently loaded it may not reconize more the 4gig. Does not support LBA48bit so max is <137gig.

You will need assist to find the unit if it is set to static IP.

Just install a HD and power it up. If it is function in 10 min you should be able to access the unit's web interface or with assist. If you don't find the snap on your network, you will need to reset to factory. Then use assist to do the inital setup.
