I'v Seen 500gig on ebay, The 750 add another platter and heads. The kernel should read it with no problem. Have not idea how the OS will react. Should not cause a problem once it starts spinning. The High current startup i think last for the first 10 sec then drops to nornal runtime values.

Keep us posted on how it works out.
