If he has the drive let him send you a copy of the boot tracks, if he haven't over written it with another system by now. That way if he's concers about the data it will not be compromised.

That is a major problem with corp discarding old equipment. They pull the drives and sleds if equiped and destroy them as a unit. So not all the pieces are their if some ones buy it. No longer a complete units, salvage for parts only.
