Default Re: Upgrade to and old Snap Server 2000

Sorry can't help you with the OS. Don't give copyrighted software away. It's a shame Adaptec has been releasing the older version to some users. But most do not get it due to the age of their units. SnapAppliance released it to anyone that registered.

Adaptec made their reputation on SCSI then rode the bubble as long as it would last. They bought SnapAppliance wanting to get into the NAS bussiness. Now they are killing SnapAppiance reputation. They don't realise that people that buy these units were people that worked with them in corporations. Now that they are running these people off they are (or soon will be) on a downward spiral. They don't realise what say so these people have.

Now after finding out that they are installing Maxtor's HD in $5000 NAS, I would return them for WD RE drives. Maxtor has the highest failure rate in the bussiness. Not what I want my data on.
