Snaps are widely used for backup, That is my main uses. You can use any program that supports network shares or MAP drives. As long as you have access to the snap share it will work. For XP I have been using SyncToy by microsoft, FREE.

You backup program must reside on the PC. The only programs that can run on the Snap is Snap Extension and/or Java script.

Make sure your unit has be modified, as one of the Sticky threads shows. If not your snap will not be stable.

If you can locate a new version (4.0.860) of the OS. I would recommend installing it. It corrects a lot of problems.
