What are the LED telling you? It should report a bad drive.

As for repacement it's always best to match what is installed. If you must have the data I would try to match it.

Snap uses the first drive to determine size. So it must be the same size. You can not install a larger drive in the drive 1 slot. Unless you replace all drives.

Depending on the age of your unit it may be time to replace all the drives. A study shows that most HD fail in the 3-5 yr mark. But some will always run 10+yrs.
