Read the FAQ's. There is a section on how to upgrade them to larger HD.

The system slow blink is a heart beat, this is normal. HD lit means HD activity.

The 2200 stores the OS on the HD. So I would use DD and copy the first 25-40 meg of the HD. If you loose this your dead. Instructions in the wiki section.
