Don't have a 4400, but the 4500 Guardian unit should be close.

The battery only cleared the BIOS settings. You should need to go in to the bios and check your settings. Make sure the watchdog is active. If you have a failed drive, it will boot the next one.

Snap defaults to 10.10.10.10 if a DHCP server is not found, and not staitic. Have you tried assist to locate the unit, or Snap Server Manager.

The 4500 has a com port for connecing a terminal. The 4500 is 115k N,8,1. May need to see what the 4400 is. I think it's different....

If you have a spare router , setup it match your old system. Then connect to the admin page and change the IP settings. I have started using DHCP/IP Mapping. This way if moved it will boot. And I can still keep it set on one IP like static.
