OS Version 2 requires you to use Assist for updates. Adaptec has been sending a link to users on email request for Assist and OS v3.4.807. This is the last free OS version. A version of Assist can also be download from Dell's site.

I'm not the resident 4000 expert, that would be Phoenix32. But I will answer what I know.

As far as OS Updates we do not give out copyrighted material. If you have read the Sticky at the top of the threads you know why. Other users have had luck locating the files on with BT. I haven't a clue where, I don't use BT.

You need to be carefull with the 4000, it's know to have a weak power supply. You also need to know what hardware version you are. Early models have problem reporting problems. The Snap OS does not support over 1T, this is a 24 bit addressing used in the file system, so 4 x 250gig is max.

To get your vitals, click on the SnapAppliance Logo at the top of the admin page. A popup will give you this info. Then I would go to debug and issue this cmd "co de info" This will give drive info, and can indicate potential problems. If you upgrade to v3 I highly recommend that your wipe your HDs clean, and start over. Snap changed the way they handled the starting point on the drives and does causes problems if you have a drive failure.

I would recommend that you read the FAQ's and info in the wiki section. It is loaded with good info. Then search the forum for answers, the odds are it has been answered many times before.
