Assist is a program that is used to locate and do the initial setup on these SnapOS units. If you were to reset to factory your IP changes to 0.0.0.0 With this IP you will not find it on your network. Snap wrote this utility to use a special protocol that they wrote to find these units. Comes on the CD that comes with the units.

In most cases Adaptec will provide it to you on request.

If your received a zip file with the OS, sometimes it's included along with JVM and S2S. The zip file is approx 18 meg.
