Default Re: Snap server 14000 OS

If you have the original CD's that came with your other 14000, the gsu file may be on the Client software. This is the file needed to do a clean install.

What you are running in to is, they removed the drives without resetting the unit to factory settings. So It is looking for the original drives. The SnapDRImage (Diaster recovery image) is reference to the original drives, not yours.

You can create a clean OS boot drive from your other unit. To do so you must disable AV and stop SnapShots. Then power down the unit. Install a NEW (clean) HD into one of the slots, pref drive 2. Power up the unit, you will see the new drive be loaded with the OS by the led, will lite for ~30sec. Total time on a 4500 is ~5-6 min. Then power back down and remove the new drive. Then power backup and and replace the removed drive (hot swap) should start resync.

Now install the new drive into the newly purchased 14000. It may are maynot boot from it.

Andy may know of a way to get by the diaster recovery screen, with only a loaded HD.
