Well it went good.

Adaptec documentation says that model supports 2gigs of SO-DIMM, in house Adaptec people at CDW say it only supports 1gig. So I popped in (2) 512 meg SO-DIMMs.

She booted up and took right off. The first time I did this 5 months ago the stinker crashed on me and literally whacked the OS. So at that time I put the original ram back in and rebuilt the system. Bad ram.

Short version is - it's up and breathing a whole lot easier than it was yesterday.
