After a reset you need to run assist to do the initial setup for the network. But installig it in a windows machine you may just lost your chance to boot it. If the sys led is blinking at a steady rate, 1 -2 every couple of sec it's booting just needs the Nic setup with assist. If your getting a 1 x 2 led pattern awaiting for DHCP server means you damaged the MBR and OS. f this is the case you may need to turn if over to a recovery service to retrive the data. Or you can try SpinRite but if windows changed anything it's toast. Some of the early 1000 have the OS in firmware, if this is the case you can upgrade the HD, but your existing data is lost.
