Default Re: Snap 4200 Upgrades

I do not know how Overland will address these. But in the past you have a 3 mo software support and a 3yr?(maybe only 1) hardware warranty. If you have a service contract them you have extended OS support & hardware depending on which lever of support you elected to take.

In the past the 4200 could be upgraded in CPU, RAM (3gig max), HD to your heart desire. The GOS has a limit of ~23T, so unless you have an expansion unit your fine. Now with that said Adaptec was talking about making it so you had to buy the HD at an inflated price. NOT SURE IF OVERLAND WILL SUPPORT ANY UPGRADES UNLESS THEY DID IT.

I know of several machines that were upgraded with 750gig and 1T drives. You are tied by the IDE interface on the older hardware. I know CPU were upgrade, but be aware of buss speed. Ram has never been any problem but require EEC.
