Matery,

It takes a working unit to transfer the OS to another HD for use. If your unit will not boot either to the recovery console or gui, the GSU is useless and will not work. The gus is just compressed files of the OS. Them by themselves are useless. I have answered this question many times on this forum.

IT TAKES A WORKING GOS SNAP SERVER or HD To BOOT A GOS unit.
NO working HD means their is no means to transfer the OS to another hd.
