You will need to upgrade your OS to support OSX. The Guardian OS supports 23T, so the OS is not an issue. I have not worked on any 14000 units. But the upgrade process should be the same as the lower units, 4500. You will need to delete all Arrays, stop services like AV, PowerVault BU. The reboot to make sure all of the services have been cleared. I would remove all HD except the first drive. Install a new HD in the second slot and cold boot. The OS should tranfer over. After 10 min power down and move the new HD to slot 1 and confirm the unit will boot. If so you can hot swap the remaing HD's. As capacity, 500gig is probably the max for EIDE. I would use good HD's like WD Interprise HD's. I have not faith in Maxtor's, there an accident waiting to happen.
