If it boots with errors try reloading the OS. Then use the debug to init the HD. This is required when you install a new HD.

I expect errors any time you clone.

You should make a copy of the boot tracks using DD. saved as a .bin . Once a HD fails you need the bin file to boot the snap. I have done this use a USB to IDE interface. Then I just launched DD and did the transfer.

The clicking sounds means it's about dead. Once this stops your probably SOL.
