Add a second HD to a 1100 is a good way to brick it. It took me about a year to figure out a way to un-brick one. I'm not going to tell you how to un-brick one, and beside you probably don't have the necessary hardware to fix the problem. So do it at your own risk, I recommend against it. If you want a 2 drive unit buy a 2200. If you want performance go with a 4 drive GOS unit with the intel chips (4200/4500).

For a 1100 to coll properly you need the case on. With the case off the air flow is not right. You need to cover the gab between the HD and rear of the unit where the fan is.
