I have an older Quantum Snap Server (Model#: 70700042-003 , SN: 303190) and cannot get the unit setup. I found the CD sleave for the original software, but one of my former employees said they lost the disc. I am told that I need to run Assist to find the unit on the network and assign an IP address since we do not have a DHCP server. Can someone please provide me with some information on how I can get this unit up and running? If I need the CD, could someone please provide me an ISO, etc?
Thank You Very Much! |

I found the assist software and it detects the unit on my network, but it not allowing me to assign an available IP to it. I verefied that the IP I am trying to use is available. When looking at the details for the unit I get all the correct information, but it says that the unit is using: DHCP, BOOTP, RARP, which it is not. Is there something that I need to do to change it to a static IP besides trying to assign it an IP through the Initial Setup? I really need to get this up and running. When I try to assign my network settings, it gets to the screen stating, "Assigning an IP address to the server..." Then it hangs for a minute and comes back with the following:
"Unable to connect with the server using the specified IP address." Any help would be greatly appreicated! Thanks. Last edited by NFCTinken; 08-03-2006 at 09:30 AM. |

Have you tried a reset to factory setting. Then do the initial setup with assist. Depending on OS version you may not have the correct version of assist. V3 & 4 works down to v2. If it is older than v2 you need v1 or 2 Assist.

I replied to your PM blue, please check it out and let me know where to go, or if you have an older version of assist I might be able to use. Thanks. JdK
