Default motherboard fan dying

I have a snap 2000 with a dying fan, It's under drive2 and over what I believe must be the CPU. It is noisy - sounds like it will fail. It also starts and stops. In debug mode, info thermal shows that it's OK, but the area feels hot to the touch.

I don't know if the starting and stopping has to do with thermally activated fan?

It is a small fan designed to fit within the heat sink. Does anyone know where I'd find a replacement? I'm assuming just letting the fan die would really put the clock ticking on the whole unit failing. Perhaps a larger exit fan on the case could be added.

Default Re: motherboard fan dying

These are thermal controlled but some wire them so they run 24/7. Just pull the info from the fan and go hunting. You have to be careful with snap servers and open cases, most will not draft properly with the case open. It's been a very long time since I've had a 2000, sold it off for parts.
