I'm in progress of cutting the fins for my waterblock, about half done. I've got a sorta interesting setup to cut the fins: a lathe modified to cut all 3 directions, with a dremel diamond wheel. The wheel cuts about 0.5 mm thickness, and i'm cutting to a base thickness of about 1.5 to 2.0 mm, fin height of about 7 mm. I'm going to cut fins to the slant and the start of the channels, then chop off the copper that isn't used at the one end. Is 0.5mm ok for the fins, or should I cut a little thicker to allow the water to flow more easily?
sorry for the bad quality... What do you guys think so far? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() more pics here http://www3.telus.net/hellfire_inc/ |

I think you should change that pic to jpg format, posting in bmp is a bandwidth crime!
