Default snap1000 no ip address

I just got my 1000 from nwtechnical. When I hook it up, I can't get an ip address. (Lights are 1 system blink for every 2 disk blinks). I have tried connecting it just to a laptop or my router but I can't get an ip assigned! I tried using an empty 40GB HD and my original 80GB from my 1100. I don't know if I have the flash OS mobo or not.
I'm stuck!!

I assume you mean an IP address is not being automatically assigned by a DHCP Server on your network? Do you know for sure if you HAVE a DHCP server on your network? If not, the IP Address can be manually assigned via the web browser.

DHCP is running on my router. I have 2 other PC's on it so I know it's working. If I had an ip address, I could hit it with my browser.

Snaps are sent with out DHCP turned on for some models. And defaults to 0.0.0.0

If the 1000 was shipped with OS on it. You need to use Assist to locate and do the initial setup.

The 1 - 2 blink refers to waiting for IP Address it also can mean if the os was loaded via img file the wrong image was used.

The assist utility would be my first guess.

Sending it back to NW technical and tell them they sent you a junk unit.

Is it possible that I just need the correct image file? I still don't know if I have a flash type or HD image unit.

Remember this was sold as mobo only. No HD so if it uses an image file, that would be the reason I'm here. I guess that's the reason I'm trying so hard to get this thing working. nwtechnical sells the mobo with no warranty.
I'll still try to get a replacement on Monday.

So let me see if I can make sense of this now...

You had an 1100 that no longer worked. You bought a 1000 board from NWTech. You have tried both the original 80 GB drive as well as a fresh 40 GB drive, but neither is working. Did I get this right now?

If so, then I am going to ass-u-me that you original image was corrupted (on the 80 GB) or this new MB uses a different image and the new MB does not have flashram. I seem to recall David talking about a couple different images needed on the 1000/1100/2000/2200. Maybe he can shed some light on all this, now that we have some more information and it is correct.

If this is not correct, how about starting again and tell us the WHOLE story so maybe we can sort it out.

And while not 100% sure, it does not sound like your board is bad, just sounds like you do not have the OS loading.

--I think the original 80GB HD image is ok but the 1100 mobo is bad. It rarely powers up and the network drops out after a short time but when it's up, it works. I do not know what type of OS the new 1000 mobo has.

That is the WHOLE story. Sorry I didn't mean to be confusing.

Some of the 1000 had flashram (v1) Some had the std boot loader(v2). Which is the same as the 2200. I can never know which one works. It's a mess of worms.

The 1-2 LED pattern is meaning it does not have the proper boot loader Image file. So a different image is needed. The board is proably godd just need the right image file.

I guess technically the are all flashram units. Some models just hold the complete OS. While others just the boot loader.

A few of us were lead to believe that the 1000 mobo from nwtechical were flash-ram units. THIS IS NOT TRUE, at least for the unit I bought. After copying the correct image, the snap booted perfectly.
Thanks everyone for your help!

If your's used the 2200 image file means you have the newer improved v2 model. Have not seen a 1000v1 MB to know difference between them. Mine is a V2 model.

Snap-tech may know a easy way to tell them apart.
