Default Quantum SNAP 1100 = Adaptec SNAP 1100?

Does anyone know if the old Quantum SNAP 1100's are the same as the SNAP Server (a.k.a. Adaptec) 1100's? I can buy one reasonable and would like to use it to make a boot disk for my SNAP 2200 that has suffered an untimely HDD failure. Also like to thank everyone here, lots of good info.

Should be about the same

Probably newer hardware version, and bios version, but otherwise, they should be pretty much the same

Quantum was bought/turned into snap which was bought out by adaptec

In most all cases the 1100 image will boot a 2200. I have only seen a few early models that used the 1000 image. The latest version of the 1100 works without any problems. In most all cases users are going the other direction. So you will be required to reload the OS.

Yes SnapAppliance is now owned by Adaptec.

Loosing 2 hd in a 2200 is not good. Have you read the FAQ's on the 2200.

Yes, I read the FAQ's, a bit late though. I killed the second drive myself. Wish I found this site last week!!! I think I will take the gamble and get the Quantum SNAP 1100 and see what happens.
