Bah! 12000 large disk support again!

Allright, how do I get this piece of junk to recognize disks larger than 130GB? I've got a 12000 running SnapOS 4.0.829. I just upgraded it from 3.4.xxx, which did not support LBA. All the drives are 160GB hardware, but showing up as 130GB.

I've issued the "ide 48BitLBACounter reset" and "ide 48BitLBACounter get" (=0) commands, then the "co de format 10000 /reinit" as well. No luck.

So, I also have a 14000 running GuardianOS. I removed all of the drives from the 12000, put a couple in the 14000, and formated them at full capacity. They register as 160GB on the 14000. Then I factory defaulted the 12000 and rebooted it, and after it came up I inserted one of the 14000-formated drives. Immediately showed up as 130GB again. Here's the bios info from the 12000:

Failsafe Bios Exists
Failsafe v3.2.664.FS Mon Jul 02 23:05:40 2001

Bios stamp v3.2.667 Wed Jul 25 16:33:30 2001

Plat Bytes 4.0.0

Model Byte 3

Failsafe:
BackPlane HW Version = 2
BackPlane SW Revision = 1.4.2

OEM Type currently is NOT an OEM box.
Only Quantum resources allowed on this non-OEM box.

Model Byte currently is:
0 - 2 drive IDE: "Minnie"
1 - 1 drive IDE: "Mortie"
2 - 4 drive IDE: "Laser"
==> 3 - 12 drive IDE: "Clipper"

IDE 48 bit LBA hits: 0

Thanks team,
Ryan

Default Re: Bah! 12000 large disk support again!

To my knowledge the 12000 does not support LBA48bit on the SnapOS Platform. I think there is a different bios for Guardian OS, but it does not support v4. Only have seen a couple come through the forum.

Phoenix32 may be able to confirm this, at shead more light on this topic.
