I have just bought 3 of these snap servers. They all have 40 gb drives and snap os v3.4.805.
I am totally stuck can anyone help. I would like to put 750 gb drives in each one. However i have also read that you can put two drives in these units. So here is my question(s) i have tried to update the os with the following error OS Update : OS Update encountered error 101016. SUP file C:\temp\SnapOS_4_0_860_upg\snap_sups\Snap_4_x.sup how do i go about upgrading the os and how do i go about upgrading the drives. If some one could just point me in the correct direction i would be most greatfull. I have read lots of the topic's but i just dont get how to upgrade. thanks in advance |

I would not recommend trying to convert a 1100 to a 2200. Doing so will lock it in a state that took me over a year to correct. And I'm not giving the solution out.
The file you are tring to load is an updater file. You must already have v4 loaded to use it. V3.4.805 supports HD's > 137gig. The 750gig will work with the snap OS. The weakest length is the power supply. So you do not want to turn it off once you get it up and running. I would also up the cooling capacity (fan) due to the larger heat load. Make sure you run with the case on, or it will not pull the air properly. For the initial formatting, I would have the case off and the opening at the back sealed off. This must be sealed off any time you have the case off, otherwise it will not pull air across the HD. Read the FAQ's. Most of the common questions are there.

You can purchase v4 from Adaptec online store. If it is not there contact them by email. The last time I heard, the price was $225USD
The upgrade can be added over your v3. The drive swap must be done like posted in the FAQ's. So the you mut copy the boot tracks over.
