Default Upgrading Drives on Snap Server 410

I have a Snap Server 410 running Guardian OS 4.2.054. It has 4 500GB drives and works just fine. I am looking to upgrade the drives to 1TB drives. I have tried a few suggestions mentioned on a few other threads with no luck. I'm hoping someone else has done the same to theirs and can walk me through what to do.

Try #1 - hot swapping the drives for new ones. and rebuilding the raid array.
result #1 - No go.

Try #2 - Remove the raid set on the original drives. Leave drive 1 in and booting to just the 1 drive and adding a 1TB Drive to drive slot 2. Letting it replicate the OS to drive #2. Shutting down and move drive 2 to drive slot 1. Booting up.
Result #2 - No go.

Try #3 - Ghosting a copy of drive #1 (original 500GB boot drive) onto the 1TB drive.
Result #3 - No go.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've also heard that the replacement drives need to be clean (no partition info, or data), aka zero filled, to work. Is that true?

I've seen some other people in these forums talking about having larger drives in their snap servers. I was wondering if they could point me in the right direction. I'm more than willing to do the studying myself. I just need a little push to get going. Can any help?

Thank you, in advance.

This has come up before. The end user ended up getting a BIOS upgraded before it worked with the 1T drives.

You can use the search feature and search for "410" there are not that many post on that model.

The system sees the 1TB drive correctly. but will not cold boot to it. Is this because of the BIOS or because there is no Guardian OS on the 1TB drive? Is there a procedure for getting the OS on a new drive without doing a fresh install? As I don't have the OS (gsu) to do a fresh install with.
