Default snap server 520 failing

Hello

The company I work for has currently got a snap server 520 but it keeps playing up. one minute its all ok and I can setup the files and folders access. even get to the stage of its ready for service. But either we've had power outs and it knocked the server out so the recovery console comes up and i have to do a fresh install or now we've done(twice) is logged onto it and asked it to shutdown which it does but when we go to boot it back up it loads up and displays on the lcd panal its name and ip but we can't access it via serial or web so i have press the powerbutton, it then tells me its shutting down and thats it i eventually have to hold the power button to turn it of which it doesnt like. and i end up getting the recovery console and then have to do a fresh install of the Os

Could some one please tell me if there is abug with the version of Os I have or say its some thing really simple and tell what im doing wrong or need to do.

It doesn't help that i do not anything about linux based software other then i could navigate though it using GUI.

Sorry this is such a long post,

details of the server are:- snap server 520 , gaurdian os V4.4.049

Network is 2003 domain based.

Thanks in advance

Vaughn

Default Re: snap server 520 failing

You need to move up to the latest version of the OS. I would then do a clean install, if you have a backup of the data, which I assume you do. I run all of mine on APC UPS with the network card to control shutdown during an outage.

Have you looked at the log file for problems?

How much ram is in the machine and number of users?

It sounds like you do not have AD2003 setup correctly. If this the problem someone else will need to chime in. I have not setup AD or have used it at home.
