I know the post that is the one right before mine is pretty much the same thing, but I would like to double double check.
Here is my snap server info: Model 2000 series Software 3.4.772 (US) Hardware 2.0.0 Server # 50498 BIOS 2.0.282 So, according to what I read here, I can pretty much pop it open, put in 2 indentical <137 GB IDE (not EIDE drives) and probably a better fan, and it will *just work*? I am correct about the <137 GB limit. right? Or can I go higher, wih some simple manipulation (BIOS, software, etc). Thanks alot for your help Jordan |

For definate the drives less than 137GB will work fine
You cannot just jack out the 2 old drives and jack in 2 new ones though As you will not get the 'snap' drives.

BTW
Are you meaning http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=13260 ?? Cause if so, you have a lot newer BIOS version, and the hardware version I think you may be ok with larger drives... David will be able to tell

Your hardware should supports hd >137gig. But you will need to to upgrade the OS for 48LBA support.

So now I just need to find v4 and two big drives or get a couple of 120 GB IDE drives.
Thanks for your help. Jordan Last edited by jshatsoff; 07-24-2006 at 04:03 PM. |

I would not run v4 unless you need MS 2003 AD support.

I guess I misunderstood. I thought I needed to Upgrade for the large drive support. Or do I just need a greater v3?
