Default Recovering data from a SnapServer 1100 disk

Can anyone shed some light on the filesystem in place on the SnapServer 1100 disks.

I have a SnapServer 1100 that doesnt want to work, but i need to recover the data from the disk. (Client (new) doesnt have backups )

I have tried permutations of Fat / Fat32 / NTFS - not expected to work, but was available - Sees the drive, and that is about it.
I have tried Knoppix - Sees the drive - unable to mount

I read somewhere that the SnapServer 1100 and similar models use a BSD variant and FSK filesystem - correct or not?
Does anyone know whether this is truely the case?
Will a FreeBSD 6.1 installation be able to mount these drives?

Looking forward to any information you can shed.

Default Re: Recovering data from a SnapServer 1100 disk

Snap OS is built off of FreeBSD, which is unix NOT Linux. If you mounded the drive in any other file system, you proably damaged the MBR, and drive table. So you may have just lost your data. FreeBSD 6.1 added support for the XFS file system. You must turn the flags on for support. As far as I know, know one has tried it.

Normal the only way to read a snap disk is with another snap.

What error codes were the led flashing on the 1100?
