Hi fellow snap users;
I just deployed 2 snapserver 520's with guardian O/S My production snap is up and running fine but the secondary unit (SNAP 2) has no WEB interface available. I can SSH into SNAP 2 fine as wella s ftp files to the box. ( Note this interface was running at one point) So it's not like it has not been there I copied the O/S .gsu file over to SHARE1 on the Snap server and executed the osupdate command with the path to the gsu file. It crc'd correctly and things looked good. The display on ther snap is indicating "Upgrading". Well this went for several hours (overnight). I come in this AM and hard boot the server It reboots. I still don't have web access but can SSH in and FTP as usual. The web interface is enabled and I have admin permission. Is there a restore process I can run to re-establish the web interface? is there a way to run commands for the www recovery console from the SSH interface? Thanks a heap snap520_Guy Thanks in advance snap520_Guy |

Thats an odd problem. Are you sre you have the WEB access turned on, under network settings. If it has corruption is hard to patch since the OS is on all HD's. IF you can do a clean install, that would be my best guess on correcting the problem. Do you have access to the debug page? if so you can use a debug cmd to force the unit to launch the Diaster Recovey console.

I agree, you need to check your settings first...
Try a hardware and/or software reset next... DO NOT reload the OS from the unit your reloading, pull it across the LAN. Last resort, do a full reinstall from the recovery console... Listen to David, I think he is right on track here... |

Yep you guys got it all right!. Anyhow I ssh'd into the box and confirmed that the web was enabled etc. We did a hardware reset and managed to eventually get to the recovery console. Took like 4 re-starts ( don't know why). Anyhow from the RC we managed to re-install the O/S and are up and running now.
Thankyou very much for your input. This is one of the very few forums out there that has a snap server community. cheers snap520_Guy |

How do you access the recovery console from a healthy working snap server 520? I'm looking to do a fresh install of the OS.
