tacky, tacky - and not true
after all he un-banned me when he figured out I wasn't making the big bucks over here

so I guess he even permits a select few to post on both forums

you're just pissed 'cause you didn't make the cut
probably too highbrow

I think the comment that Procooling readers weren't welcome was from a "regular poster" over there and not from management. Management's statement was that procooling STAFFERS are not welcome. In my case that is understandable given my tendency to quote "dead English dudes".

Hi, My name is Axly, and I'm an alcoh.. uhh.. sorry, wrong forum..

I have no idea how I could miss this place for so long. I've spent the past few days reading as many posts as I can find, cause this is a place where there are no "l337 hax0r fook" bla bla bullsh-t and no 13-y.o mentality.

I started off at the Hardforum the same day it opened, and back then it was a completely different attitude there. Nobody knew very much about oc'ing, and everyone tried to help out, and research to help each other.. (sure, most don't know anything there even today) I mostly hang out in the Cool Cases forum, where there are a bit more interesting things to find, but the single most common thread I see there is "I'm gonna buy this and that, and I'm gonna beat you all in 3D-mark"

After 2,5 years at H-forum (and loads of other places) I find this goldmine I'll still visit H-forum, but it's been a long long time since I found anything to learn there.. This place has fresh ideas.. they might be a bit far out, and a bit complicated.. but new ideas
___________________________________

Think of H as Woolworths.. It's a huge place, the admins don't have very much time so they're not always in their nicest moods. All sorts of people go there, and in large crowds.
Think of Procooling as a more exclusive store.. you sell Armani or something. It's not for the masses, you have to be really in to it, and to be honest.. You look down on the "Woolworth people"

Sure, the article was a bit thin.. but I don't think very many of the readers would appreciate a more thorough one. (I would, but that's me.. and why should i complain, I got a so-so comparison of the blocks I won't buy anyway)

One thing.. don't go start a flame-war.. not even in this forum. It's very very useless, and can't lead to anything good.

hmm, I'm not even a staffer and I got banned! hehe, no hurt tho, I'm hardcore enough toward procooling that I don't even care.

A little bitching goes a long way.

Steve changed the waterblock review yet again!

Now Gemini has a "Nice" Spiral design instead of a "revolutionary" design.

Jeez, that moronic Steve guy really sounds like a cock freakin' out at BillA for simply pointing out that he f*cked his roundup up. Shiz, I can do a better job testing those things in my house with a damn garden hose and flow regulator (you do know what a control valve is, right?).

Hey Steve: I throw down the gauntlet to YOU, you asshat (WTF kind of homo sh!t is that, anyway???). Send me those blocks, and I'll give you real data.

I'll meet your challenge, if you're man enough to stick to your guns.

When I'm done you can crawl under a rock and die of shame, you sack of sh!t. For god's sake, standing behind a terminal and banning people for disagreeing with you, especially when you're horribly wrong, shows what a pussy you are. You want to throw the gauntlet (or lacy glove from your flamer mansex get-togethers) on your site, I'll do the same here.

Are you afraid to be proved wrong, c*ck-boy?

The sad thing is that it'll only take a minimum of hardware to do a better job than you, and even with huge inaccuracies in my setup I can get more usable data. This doesn't take a rocket scientist to perform, but you buggered it right and proper. I am revolted to think that anyone might waste their hard-earned money purchasing hardware on your incorrect recommendation.

(Sorry if I offended anyone, but that moron really gets under my skin, and I've never been a member over there ... maybe it's just his horrible color scheme puts me in the wrong mood to tolerate his delusions of grandeur).

Hey, go to [H] and look for a pix of Steve, that is a asshat. Or in common english..........fill in your worst insult.

By the way, what got this one going again?

I hope that Steve isn't dumb enough to have started something again. Geez the guy just got done screwing up that CPU reveiw, you'd think he'd take a break.

Apparently the CPU block was "revised" as the great Fixitt was quite unhappy with what was side about the Spiral design...with good reason.

I am a new member here and very new to water cooling. After reading the thread here and what I could at [H]’s website, I wanted to give a new guy option. The idea of water cooling isn’t new to me, I know people have done it for years, and I’ve just now gotten around to trying it myself. When I first started hunting around for information, I could be described like many [H] members. I wanted some one to tell me what block is best. I went around looking for products that got good reviews. After reading more reviews than I can count, I notice that one website would give a good review of a product, where another would give a poor review of the same product. This always sets off bells with me and makes me question why. It seems that the target audience for [H]’s website is the person that wants some body to tell them what products to buy. Anybody can slap a water block, pump and rad into a system and it’s going to work (a general statement) but more than likely won’t provide the best cooling it can. This is where people like BillA come in that give all this numbers and tech data that confuses the [H] members or a lot of people for that matter. That kind of information is for the people that want to know “why” this water block performs better in one setup and not another. It is for people that want to find what rad, what block and what flow rate is going to give the best cooling. It isn’t for the people that just want to be able to say I got water inside my computer. It’s now 4 months later, and I’m still learning a lot every day. The banning that has gone on over at [H] doesn’t surprise me. I have found with many forums on many web sites, there is this attitude among people that they are the one and only person. Many are not willing to answer questions, will flame or even ban if some body questions what they say. I’ve been in several forums where “n00bs” as they call them don’t seem to be welcome because many of them ask too many questions and a lot of times, I’ve seen where they already new more than the person answering the question which has lead to flaming or banning. Just my two cents, I now return you to your normal thread reading.

I totally agree...

The only thing I despise is inaccurate simple reporting.
The simplest way is sometimes the best and preferred way.
However, if you have misleading data because you are being too simple, or neglect some very important tests it becomes worthless simple data. Consumer reports is the master of simple data.. sometimes simple minds are the result of simple data gone wrong.

A trained chimp can do a waterblock roundup and get it better than the [H] did. That is what ticks me off. For all the n00bs and initiates that see that and think that it is the end all and be all of testing, I'm horrified at what they did. Bad reporting is worse than being stupid: it's spreading stupidity to others.

What makes it worse, though, is lashing out at those people that point at the man behind the curtain (Wizard @ OZ ref.). That is beyond stupid.

EXACTLY post deleated prevents people from seeing both sides of the story that in it self should tell you something.
I have had at least 6 or 7 of my posts deleated in the past because i didnt agree 100% with something kyle or steve said.
They like to cover their arses as much as possible.
I remember a time when hard ocp had decent reviews now it is and has been obvious that alot of their reivews have become more promotinal in nature imo.
I use to hang on on hard ocp lot a while back esp the forums i rember basicly having live chat on their forums id post and with in seconds i had have dozen replys.
Hell more than one of my posts hit 200 replys in a hour the one i remember was the a+ cert one.

I also at one point needed some hard ware cheap as possible to finish up my neices computer not only did i get a better heat sink for like a buck and 3 80s for 2 bucks but one guy gave me a cdrom another guy gave me a modem and network card.
My bet is that none of them are left in the forums now.
I know the 1 guy posted in cooling forum about a bad review that steve did and he was ip banned from the entire site.

In all fairness, I may have been banned because I don't think that they allow posting links, but either way, I wouldn't hang out there, unless I was looking for something very specific.

They only ban for posting links to explict material, and even then...most of the "popular" sick jokes have since been filtered out.

Well I know I didn't do that, unless they consider a ProCooling thread "explicit"...

Hey, they DO post links: check it out "Link roundup"
